Additional Information
Disability Assistance Dogs receives no funding from state or federal government. We rely on contributions from the public to enable us to train Service, Facility and Companion Dogs for disabled adults and children. Without financial help from caring people, our mission to improve the quality of life for individuals with a disability through the use of trained assistance dogs could not exist.
Below is an explanation of how funds are used.
Unrestricted Funds: donations given to Disability Assistance Dogs which are to be used to further our mission. These funds are used in all areas of Disability Assistance Dogs’ operation. By giving unrestricted funds you allow us to provide for the care and training of assistance dogs and their partners.
Restricted Funds: donations given to Disability Assistance dogs that are restricted by the donor to specific areas, states, cities, people, type of assistance dog or in any other way a donor wishes. These funds are used as stated by the donor.
Important Note: Some donors restrict the use of their donation to a specific individual or family who has applied for an assistance dog. Please note that this type of donation is not eligible for deduction as a charitable contribution. Donors should consult their independent tax advisor as to the appropriate tax treatment of this type of donation to Disability Assistance Dogs.
We are grateful for the support of our donors.
